Erectile dysfunction medicines seized in Glengormley

Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health officials during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A male was spoken with by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently supplying unlicensed impotence medications through the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other .

He will now be the topic of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was brought out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is vital that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medications can be dangerous.

"These types of products being sold, typically online, have gone through no quality assurance and there can be no warranty about their safety.

"You just do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More significantly, you do not know the effect drugs like this may have on your health."
